Interstitial Cystitis
Nov 17, 2021Interstitial cystitis is a debilitating bladder condition. This quick review is to help people struggling with I.C. to understand additional options outside of the medical treatments of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain medications.
The way to help I.C. is to treat the patient, not the disease. Look at all factors - diet, liquid intake, stress, trauma to the bladder, nutritional inadequacy (think Vitamin A), glandular insufficiency such as thymus, pituitary and kidney disease.
In my clinical experience, I think that I.C. is a sub-clinical viral infection of the bladder. This means that the white blood cell count is normal or decreased and the lymphocyte count is elevated 20% (36.0 or greater). I was taught that this means the immune system is not responding but that the individual white blood cell, the lymphocyte, is trying to clean the blood. See British Journal of Medical Practitioners Chronic Infection Causes Neurodegenerative, Neurobehavioral, Psychiatric, Autoimmune and Fatiguing illness.
Treatment considerations for I. C. improve mucous membrane health with vitamin A. Stimulate immune system with sodium ascorbate Improve oxygenation using ultraviolet blood irradiation therapy "re-wire" nerves with neural therapy. I have had some success with I.C. with this plan. It is based upon my clinical experience.
